Our new Student Spotlight is on Mr. Tim. He is currently a 4th Degree Red Belt. He is 58 years old and has been training at RSKA for 5 years now. He is projected to be eligible for Black Belt testing within the next year! His favorite aspects of training include open hand forms, weapons forms and fighting. His martial arts goals include earning his Black Belt. He then wants to continue training for as many years thereafter as he will be physically capable of which he hopes is very many. Competition wise he has entered two tournaments since becoming an Advanced student. Out in Lancaster he took 2nd in weapons, 1st in sparring and 2nd in open hand forms. At our annual RSKA tournament he recently took a 2nd in Advanced adults sparring and 3rd in open hand forms against our Black Belts! In his career he has spent the last 11 years as an Associate Professor in the music library at West Chester University. His message to all who come across this is, “You are never too old to learn!” Congrats Mr. Tim!!!
